in case you didn't know, this commercial was directed by yasmin ahmad, acclaimed director of the sepet trilogy and muallaf. she is also responsible for the annual petronas hari raya commercials. you should check them out too. i've decided to put one below.

there is a light that never goes out

today i was deeply touched by one of my subordinates. he presented me with the Quran as a gift, after i told him last week that upon my mother's request i've begun to start reading the holy verses again.

somehow i choose to see this as a sign that not all is lost, and that there is still hope. this is perhaps the most meaningful gift i've ever received.

live forever

this has been one of the best weekends of the year so far.

• we had a visitor who came from down under to breath the same air as the gallaghers
  
• hours of winning eleven till our eyes and fingers hurt
• catching up on old times and inside jokes

but all good things had to come to an end.
